Sexual assault in children is hidden behavior. The occurrence rate is high in China while few children victims of sexual assault are reported. This paper deeply sorts outon primary documents narrated by 126 children victims of sexual assaultanonymously on network and analyzes the reasons ofchildren victims of sexual assault to hide their experience and condition they face with after revealing their experience. We find out factors preventing children to reveal sexual assault
including lack of sexual knowledge
fear (fear of revenge
fear to be a burden to family
fear of destroying family relation)
sense of shame caused by social culture
lack of support and help
negative feedback from family to reveal sexual assault. This paper uses social culture theory to discuss the influence of social culture to individual child and family when they encounter with traumatic event
provide specific suggestions aiming to help family and society pay attention to children victims of sexual assault earlier
and protect children from further harm
promote smooth operation mechanism of children protection system.
