摘要

民族精神是一个民族赖以生存和发展的精神支撑。弘扬和培育中华民族精神

必须吸纳中国以民本主义和人格自由为主要内容的传统民主自由精神

它是培育当代中国民主自由精神的心理和文化基础;必须吸纳现代西方以天赋人权、人民主权、自由平等、分权制衡、民主法治等为主要内容的民主自由精神

它对中国社会主义民主政治建设具有积极的借鉴作用;必须发扬党和人民长期以来形成的革命文化传统与现当代的革命精神和社会主义精神

它是我们弘扬和培育民族精神的主要基础;必须创造出新时期以"三个代表"重要思想为指导方针和宏伟纲领的、符合中国特色社会主义目标的、以民主自由为主要特征的中华民族精神。

Abstract

National spirit is the psychic support for a nation to exist and progress. To expand and develop national spirit

must absorb Chinese traditional democratic spirit

which is the spiritual mental and cultural base to develop the modern Chinese democratic spirit

must absorb the west democratic spirit of modern times

which has positive effect to our socialist political construction

must carry forward the Party’s excellent revolutionary tradition and the modern socialist spirit

which is the main base for us to expand and develop national spirit

and must create Chinese national spirit

whose guidelines and magnificent creed is "Three Representatives"

and whose characteristic is of democracy and freedom.
