The genre of Major Events in ancient China was one of the three major historical compilation of genres. There was a gradual process in which the name of Major Events changed from of a title of the history books into a genre. In fact

when Yuanshu’s book came out

the genre of Major Events began to appear

but historians have not internalized it as a concept

so publishing of Yuan’s book was not a sign of establishment of the genre of Major Events.Si Ku Quan Shu first set categories of "Major Events"in the History Department

marking the formal establishment of the genre of Major Events

forming the completion of the process of change of fact to the concept confirmed.
