Abstract

Heaven is one of the most important concepts of Chinese ancient philosophy

it referred to God

nature

destiny

noumenon and so on. Based on western science

the philosophy of modern times gave it some new meanings and a different time spirit. This change not only showed a different thought style between the ancient philosophy and the philosophy of modern times

but also symbolled the accomplishment of the transferring of Heaven from the ancient to the modern times. The transferring course had four important characters: fusing

criticizing

practicing and ending.
