戴维·洛奇的《小世界》是一部典型的后现代主义小说，具有后现代主义反权威、碎片化、无深度等文化特征，但在这部作品中却也呈现出西方文化传统中“不倦寻找”的崇高精神。在阅读《小世界》时，我们应重视作品的这种“双重主题”，并进一步思考后现代主义小说的文化内涵。

David Lodge’s

Small World

is a typical post-modernist novel

which demonstrates the characteristics of post-modernist culture

such as anti-authority

fragmentation and lack of depth. However

it also shows the lofty spirit of "tireless pursuit" in the western cultural tradition. When reading

Small World

we should pay attention to such "double themes" of the work

and further think about the cultural connotation of post-modernist novels.
