摘要

张恨水的小说是对传统章回小说有选择的改良，以其代表作《啼笑因缘》为例，从题材和文体创作两个方面张恨水小说对传统章回小说都有继承与创新。从题材选择上看，《啼笑因缘》与传统章回小说中的世情小说、艳情小说、才子佳人小说、历史演义等等不同类型的小说都有着深厚的渊源，又在不同程度上有所发展、创新。从文体创作的层面看，《啼笑因缘》的叙事时间、叙事视角、叙事结构、人物塑造技法等等都对章回小说的创作技法有所继承、改良。张恨水之所以能够以辩证的姿态审视章回小说，究其原因有二：一是作者少年时代对章回小说的阅读经验所致，一是作者新闻记者的身份促使，令他对现实有着敏锐的感知，并能够在充分考虑到当时读者的接受能力的情况下，以传统蕴含时代精神的方式向读者揭示社会的扭曲与人性的美。

narrative structure and characterization of traditional "Zhang Hui" novel in different extent. There are two reasons for ZHANG Henshui’s dialectical attitudes to traditional "Zhang Hui" novel. One is his reading experience of "Zhang Hui" novel in his teenager period. One is his identity as journalist which cultivates his sense to reality and helps him to real the social distortions and beauty of human nature taking receptivity of readers into full consideration.
