The subjective meaning of education reform to teachers
is the consensus reached by the objective meaning of reform and the teachers’ individual meaning world. The premise of this consensus are the sharing of reform information and the mutual recognition and support of values and cultures. The subjective meaning of education reform to teachers determines the specific actions of teachers in the reform. However
due to neglect at the reform decision-making level
wrong guidance at the school level and misunderstanding from the teachers
subjective meaning of teachers as individuals are lost in the education reform. We should enhance the sharing of reform information and meaning among the different levels of decision makers
schools and teachers; respect teachers’ principal position and existing experience
improve teachers’ participation in various aspects of reform; develop teachers’ professional learning community and build a supportive culture based on cooperation; let teachers face the education reform with a positive mentality and an open attitude
and face the demand of their true self and improve their own meaning to promote the construction of teachers’ subjective meaning and ensure the smooth implementation of education reforms.
