Humans have a long history of discovering and drinking alcohol. The history of alcohol starts even earlier than human civilization. During the formation of the modern world
some influential brands of alcohol gradually appeared. After the Age of Discovery
alcohol began spreading as an addictive consumer product globally with colonization and the development of cross-regional and intercontinental trade. Academia previously paid more attention to the influence of addictive consumer products such as tea
tobacco
coffee
opium
sugar
and cocoa on the modern world
but did not pay enough attention to alcohol. Alcohol is a moderately addictive consumer product
which not only has a certain health effect
but is also addictive. With the acceleration of economic globalization
various brands of alcohol have become important commodities in international trade. The widespread consumption of alcohol has a great influence on modern lifestyles
and it is also an important driving factor for modern economic globalization. Although some countries are aware of the dangers of alcohol and have enacted prohibitions
no country has ever succeeded in prohibiting alcohol since drinking has become a way of life and can bring huge financial profits to the country.
