The Transition and Choice of Current Employment in the Context of Rapid Development of Internet: An Analysis Based on JSNET2014 Data封面论文
With the rapid development of information and communication technology and the wide use of the Internet
we have entered a new era of the Internet. This has profoundly changed all fields of production and life of the human society
and also brought about the transformation of mode and choice of employment. Using the JSNET2014 survey dataset in eight cities in China
we construct MProbit and Probit models to analyze the impact of Internet use on various employment choices
and discuss the relationship mechanism between Internet use and decent work and online entrepreneurship. It is found that Internet use has a significantly positive effect on overall employment level. The IVProbit model is used to test the effectiveness and robustness of the estimation results. Besides
there are group differences of Internet use due to differences in marriage
education and registered residence
and Internet use raises the probability of decent work and online entrepreneurship. The mediating effect model further finds that the number of online work communities is an important path mechanism for Internet use to promote online entrepreneurship.
