vernacular is taken as opposite of classical Chinese. In fact
vernacular is not only a language concept. In 2000
Miriam Bratu Hansen
professor of University of Chicago
endows the concept of vernacular with new aesthetic connotation based on Hu Shi’s expressions and his knowledge and understanding to Vernacular Movement. This thesis discusses the concept of vernacular from the relationship between vernacular and daily life
vernacular as aesthetic concept and enlightenment to daily life and daily life anesthetization three aspects connected with Hansen’s aesthetic understanding and introspection on concept of daily life of Hermann Bausinger. This thesis aims to break through the limit between tradition and modern and find out Chinese characteristics and theoretical foundation for the development of Chinese folklore in the background that folklore researches form its own characteristic in other countries.
