Sociological Analysis on Adding Elevators in Old Multi-Storey Residential Buildings
The reports of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China General Secretary Xi pointed out that we must always put people’s interests in the supreme position
let the reform achievement benefit all the people more fairly
keep moving forward to achieve common prosperity for all the people. We will strengthen the construction of the social security system
and build a multi-tiered social security system covering all people
urban and rural areas
clear rights and responsibilities
and ensure a moderate and sustainable social security system. At present
our country has entered an aging society and the main endowment patterns of old people in China is home endowment. One of the difficulties of this pension mode is that it’s hard to meet the basic living requirement for the old to go upstairs and downstairs
as most of the existing multi-storey residential buildings are not installed elevators
which bring the elderly endowment inconvenience. In recent years
several provinces and cities in our country have given guidance for the old multi-storey residential buildings to add elevators
but overall progress is not smooth. The author proposes some thinking and suggestions from the sociology
