Enterprise S&T Innovation’s Driving Effect on the Upgrading of Industrial Structure: A Study Based on the Empirical Analysis of Shandong Province
Scientific and technological innovation is of great significance for the upgrading and optimization of industrial structure. The panel data of prefecture-level cities in Shandong Province from 2003-2018 are selected to analyze the role of S&T innovation of enterprises in Shandong Province on the upgrading of industrial structure using dynamic differential GMM estimation method. Results of the analysis show that improving enterprise S&T innovation capacity helps to upgrade the industrial structure of Shandong Province; the government's S&T support has a certain inhibitory effect on the rationalization of industrial structure
but will significantly enhance the height of industrial structure. Improving enterprise S&T innovation capacity
improving the industrial and geographical structure of the government's S&T expenditure
and strengthening the in-depth communication and integration of industry
academia and research can effectively promote the further optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.
